ANNUAL LABOR DAY
COLLECTION
Once again this year the members of the Baltimore County Fire Fighters should be PROUD of the outstanding job done collecting to help Jerry's Kids and Muscular Dystrophy. Although the grand total is not as high this year as last year's (over $100,000), mainly due to two days of rain, participation was at an all time high. For the first time in many years EVERY STATION in the County collected. I would be remiss if I did not mention Capt. Ross Cooke from Headquarters who went out with Station 8-D on Monday and collected over $175. Also this year we had members of the MDA committee out collecting once they took care of the troops in the morning. I even saw a few Executive Board members on street corners pitching in. I would also like to acknowledge retired Battalion Chief Phil Kearney who helped us out on Monday with a fire engine at York and Padonia. As well, I’d like to recognize Steve Geller's wife Sandy and five of his children who helped us collect over $1,000 in about an hour and a half. The success stories this year are many, but they all lead back to you guys and gals who gave up your down time to help with this very worthy cause. Words can not express the gratitude I have for all the members of this fine organization who came out in record numbers to help this year. Thanks again to all. Total for Baltimore County Fire this year $89,500. Respectfully, Jack Freeland
and the MDA Committee:
