WANTED - YOUR BLOOD:  Did you know the Red Cross has a new Blood Donation Center right here in Cockeysville?  At York & Padonia, it takes less than an hour to help save a life.  Their hours are 12-7 Mon, Tues, and Wed, so if you went on the first Tuesday of the month you could go straight from work, donate blood, and still make it to the Union Meeting (7:30) on time!  For all Information and Appointments CALL 1-800-GIVE LIFE (1-800-448-3543).

With a re-energized focus on fitness within the Fire Department, this section is designed by and for the members of IAFF Local 1311.  As we continue to promote YOUR fitness and health, please feel free to write to us with any ideas, questions, comments, or suggestions.  Remember, it's not necessarily just about YOU ... your health also matters greatly to those who love you, and those whom you love.  Take care of it.

It's certainly no guarantee, but clicking on the Longevity Calculator will at least get you thinking about how your lifestyle choices can affect your lifelong expectancies.  This Calculator is based on a quiz Harvard Medical School researchers Thomas Perl, M.D. and Margery Hutter Silver, Ed.D. developed to help you calculate your life expectancy. The quiz was developed after a rigorous study of 150 centenarians.  (Thanks to Al Brown for sharing this interesting site!)
